Danny Jones was elected to the office of Superintendent of Roads in 2022 after retiring from TDOT with 21 years of service.
Danny and his wife Mary live on the family farm in the Clinch Community located within Hawkins County. They share 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
The Highway Department maintains 874 miles of roadway. Duties include paving roads both with hot top and chip and seal; patching or repairing bad areas; installing new and replacing damaged drain pipe; keeping ditches free of debris; keeping roads clear during inclement weather; mowing roadsides; repairing bridges.
The Highway Department also operates a repair shop to maintain their vehicles and road equipment.
