Sheriff Roger Christian is currently serving as the top law enforcement officer for Hawkins County.  Sheriff Christian entered law enforcement in the mid 1970’s with the Town of Church Hill Police.  He is a graduate of Church Hill High School and East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.  Sheriff Christian was employed with the Tennessee Highway Patrol for over twenty-eight years and retired with the rank of Sergeant in 2006. 

The Sheriff’s Office is charged with various duties which include general law enforcement, court security, county correctional facility operation, and civil and criminal service of process.  The Sheriff’s Office currently employs approximately sixty officers and staff to carry out its duties.

Aside from the day-to-day law enforcement responsibilities, the Sheriff’s Department has a host of administrative responsibilities that include records, public information, crime prevention, community relations, human resources, finance, purchasing and receiving, training, accreditation, and internal affairs.

1. Where do I get an automobile accident report?
Reports may be picked up in the Sheriff’s office from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday for those accidents that occurred within the County but outside of any city limits if the accident was investigated by a County officer.
