JAMES “JAY” TAYLOR
Judge James “Jay” Taylor received his Juris Doctor degree from Mercer University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree from East Tennessee State University. He was elected Judge of the Juvenile Court of Hawkins County in 2006. Taylor has been a speaker on a variety of legal topics, including being selected by the State of Tennessee to train the clerks of courts on juvenile law procedure.
The Juvenile Court of Hawkins County is responsible for hearing all matters pertaining to juveniles, including matters of delinquency, truancy, paternity, custody, visitation, child support, and termination of parental rights.
All fees and court cost amounts vary and are paid through the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.
